2024 Bowlegs Bison Football Preview – Presented by Bowlegs Booster Club

BOWLEGS BISON

Coach: STEVEN SULLIVAN

3-7

OFFENSE

In his second year at Bowlegs, coach Steven Sullivan is looking to vault the Bison into new territory. “After learning a new system and new culture within the program, the team is ready to take a big step forward,” Sullivan said. “We have a lot of talent returning in every position, and I feel the team is ready to hit the ground running and compete for the district.” The Bison offense will mix some power run with read option concepts. “I believe in running the ball and setting up the pass,” Sullivan said. Cayden Milner (5-10, 140, So.) will be the team’s starting quarterback. “[Milner] has great poise and doesn’t get rattled,” Sullivan said. Colton Sullivan (5-11, 150, Sr.), a “very quick and fast back that runs downhill and is very tough to tackle,” will be the team’s offensive engine. He will share the backfield with Austin Byrd (5-10, 145, Jr.) while tight end Hudson Jasna (6-3, 165, Sr.) and receiver Jacob Lewis (5-11, 145, Sr.) will be the team’s premier pass-catchers. Aiden Prentice (5-11, 303, Sr.) will lead the team’s offensive line.

DEFENSE

The Bison will base out of a 3-2 and “play disciplined and fly to the ball as a team.” Prentice will work to disrupt gaps on the defensive line alongside Jasna, who will use his size and speed to play a significant role at defensive end. “[Prentice] is a tough load to handle when he is one defense and does a great job being the centerpiece and opening holes on offense,” Sullivan said. Cassius Krause (6-0, 185, Jr.), Kaden Price (5-10, 210, So.) and Byrd will make up Bowlegs’ linebacking corps, though Byrd can pay defensive back at times. Caleb Harjo (5-11, 150, Sr.) will be tasked with defending the pass and backing up the defense as one of the team’s top returning defensive backs. Bowlegs will only have to play on the road four times this year and plays three of its first four games at home.
