OUTLOOK
Perennial contenders, the Carl Albert Titans under head coach Jay Price have enjoyed a lot of success on the court. This season the Titans are young, but have the tools and talent to make this another great season of Titan basketball.
“We have a young team that will gain much needed experience along the way throughout the season. There is a solid core of good basketball players that will learn to play together as a team and continue to improve throughout the season. We hope to improve and compete at a high level to prepare ourselves for a chance to compete in the State Tournament,” said coach Price.
Xavier Garcia (6-1, Sr.) is a VYPE Top 100 selectee and a starter at guard. A program kid in his fourth season, Garcia is poised for a breakout season solidifying himself as one of the top players in the OKC area. Coach Price expects Garcia to be a leader for the Titans this season.
Brandon Rogers (6-2, Jr.) is another guard with high expectations this year. Rogers is solid on both ends of the court and will give opponents trouble if they focus on Garcia. Austin Johnson (6-5, So.) is a young player with a high ceiling. Coach Price expects this to be a breakout year for the sophomore and his size and athleticism makes him a nightmare to defend.
Rex Reynolds (6-3, So.) is another underclassman looking to make his mark on the program. Reynolds is quick and make good decisions with the ball. The same can be said for guards Adrian Randle (5-4, Jr.) and Jordan Hawkins (6-2, Jr.). All three players will make contributions this season.
Other players to watch include Lebron Royal (6-2, Jr.) at forward, Delijah Matthews (6-0, So.) at guard, and Darion Thomas (6-0, So.) at forward. Thomas is relentless on the boards and is always working. Thomas brings a great attitude and does all the little things it takes to help his team win.
