2025 Oklahoma Christian School Saints Football Preview

OKLAHOMA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL SAINTS

Coach: TANNER ROOF

7-3

OFFENSE

With the ship pointed in the right direction, the Saints of OCS are rolling along at a nice pace and are eager to get on the field and compete. Head coach Tanner Roof said the team is returning some good experience on both sides of the ball. “Last year we went 7-3 and missed the playoffs. We have a lot of experience returning on both sides of the ball. We need to stay healthy and have strong leadership out of our senior class. We are really excited about this season but know we have to focus on getting better one day at a time,” said coach Roof. VYPE Top 100 selectee Atticus Sage (6-1, 205, Sr.) makes his return at H-back where he caught 44 passes for 569 yards and six touchdowns. He also contributed in the run game and special teams with a total of 12 TDs. Quarterback Creighton Allen (6-1, 185, Sr.) will see more action this season after completing 17 of 24 passes for 204 yards and two scores last season. Several players are key components in the passing game. James Huffmyer (6-4, 180, Sr.) and Eli Winter (5-9, 160, Sr.) are two excellent targets with more than 400 yards receiving each. Tight end Hudson Able (6-4, 195, Sr.) is a legit target and a solid run blocker. Hank Green (6-1, 285, Sr.) will anchor the offensive line at guard.

DEFENSE

Nine starters are back on defense for the Saints including Braden Weaver (6-2, 205, Sr.) at middle linebacker. Weaver made 45 tackles last season and is a physical player inside. Carter McCalla (5-10, 180, Sr.) is a hard-hitting safety who made 52 tackles and grabbed two interceptions. McCalla will have help on the edge with Gray Franklin (6-0, 170, Sr.) at corner. Franklin had 34 tackles and one pick to his credit last season. Defensive end Henry Field (5-11, 190, Sr.) will set the edge and get after opposing QBs. Field made 24 tackles with two sacks last year. Hudson Brown (5-10, 210, Sr.) joins Weaver at linebacker. Brown made 27 tackles and grabbed one interception last year. Up front look for Tyson Grundy and Garrett Quillin who love to disrupt the backfield. Grundy had 48 tackles and three sacks while Quillin made 13 tackles and two sacks. Quillin played several games hurt last year but is back to 100 percent.
