Bentlee Lindsey, a student-athlete at Newcastle High School, doesn’t just play soccer; she embodies the spirit of dedication and resilience that defines her athletic journey.
In the realm of sports, Bentlee navigates the field as a defensive center mid and an attacking center mid, showcasing versatility and a strategic mindset. However, her motivation extends beyond the turf. “My faith in Christ is my biggest motivation. I strive every day to be a servant leader to the girls on my soccer team. My team, coaches, and family are also my motivation. My little brother, Bryce, is my #1 Fan!”
Family plays a pivotal role in Bentlee’s success, with her parents emerging as her guiding lights. “My biggest influences and role models are definitely my parents. Both my mom and dad inspire me each day to work hard and never give up. They are the reason I am the person I am today.”
In the classroom, Coach Davis, Bentlee’s leadership teacher, assumes a crucial role. “She exemplifies a servant leader who humbly serves others and inspires me every day. She also supports me in everything and gives the best advice.”
Overcoming injuries is a testament to Bentlee’s resilience. Reflecting on her high school career, she highlights a triumphant moment: “I have struggled with pretty serious injuries during my high school career with a broken collarbone and torn ACL, so making it through my junior year injury-free and with All-District and MVP awards was very exciting.”
Off the field, Bentlee actively engages in clubs and activities, from leading National Honor Society to participating in student council.
The weight of representing her school and community isn’t lost on Bentlee. “It means everything to me having the opportunity to represent my school and community. I am beyond grateful each game for all the support soccer gets. After my injuries, I have learned to play each game like it’s my last because you never know when it might be.” Bentlee Lindsey’s story is one of passion, faith and an unwavering commitment to excellence both on and off the field.
