OUTLOOK

Putnam City North boys basketball enters the year with the look of a team built for a deep run. Head coach D J Lemons returns major contributors and welcomes emerging stars who add explosiveness and scoring potential to an already strong roster.

“While there may be some early season growing pains with such a young roster and a challenging out-of-state schedule, the internal goal remains to make a state run and the ultimate prize of a state title,” coach Lemons said.

Senior forward Nate Muriithi (6-6) anchors the lineup with strength consistency and interior presence. Sophomore guard Keaton Murry (6-4) enters the spotlight following a strong offseason that earned him attention across the state. His ability to shoot create and stretch the floor makes him a key factor in the team success. Murry has on offer from the University of Missouri. Mehki Thomas (6-2) brings attacking ability and on ball pressure that fuels the team on both ends. Junior wing Miles Jackson (6-7) adds length and scoring versatility.

Sophomore Devion Gillispie (6-2) adds toughness and playmaking as a developing point guard with natural instincts. Also look for TJ McNeely to have an impact this season for the Panthers.

With size guard play and one of the deeper rotations in their class Putnam City North has the pieces to pursue a serious postseason run.
