The Lady Irish enter the new season with some new faces. One of which has been turning heads since her arrival.
When Kash Cooper transferred from Heritage Hall, the Lady Irish immediately gained a player who is willing to work hard and dedicate herself to the team. Folding into the mix was easy for Cooper thanks to her teammates accepting her with open arms.
“What | love most about my team is how close we are. Everyone genuinely supports each other, on and off the court. We push one another to be better, and there’s a strong sense of family and trust that makes playing together special,” Cooper said.
Known as a shooter and a mismatch at guard, Cooper can post up when needed. Cooper has continued to work hard in all areas of the game.
“One of my strengths is my work ethic and consistency. I’m always working to improve my overall skills, especially focusing on confidence and becoming a stronger leader,” said Cooper.
Cooper said her teammates are vocal, funny and a great group to be around. She is looking forward to a great season on the court.
“The most vocal teammate is Mya Madu, who really helps lead and motivate us. The teammate who keeps everyone laughing is Elliot Jones, because they always bring positive energy,” said Cooper. “I’m most looking forward to continuing to grow as a team, competing at a high level, and making memories with my teammates.”
Only a sophomore, Cooper said she finds inspiration in her mother.
“My biggest inspiration is my mom. She has shown me what hard work, perseverance, and strength look like every day. She’s always supported my goals and reminds me to believe in myself, even when things get challenging,” Cooper said.
In the classroom, Cooper’s favorite subject is English, and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Wagner, “because she always encouraged me and made learning engaging and fun.” Cooper is involved in Unity with coach AJ Hawkins which helps students grow in leadership, on and off the court.
Away from the game you can usually find Cooper with family and friends, staying active or relaxing. The Top 100 selectee said she enjoys music and recharging when she’s busy.
