Is there a better nickname in Oklahoma high school basketball than “boogie?” The answer is no.
That’s the nickname of Heritage Hall junior Braelon “Boogie” Bradshaw, a 6-foot-6 hybrid forward who transferred to Heritage Hall and is ready to make his presence felt as a Charger. Bradshaw said his teammates at Heritage Hall are focused and embrace the task at hand.
“I love how they come in everyday wanting to be better and the level of trust for each other,” Bradshaw said of his teammates.
Head coach Dylan Sullivan said of Bradshaw, “Braelon is a player who is ready to break out this season after transferring over to us. He will be a walking double-double and will be a force around the lane and rim on defense. He can step out and guard all five positions on the floor, as well.”
Bradshaw said he’s inspired by Kevin Durant and his level of perseverance he has shown throughout his career. While Bradshaw brings superior athleticism to the floor, there is always something to improve.
“My strength has to be my athleticism and jumping. I’m working to build a consistent jumper,” Bradshaw said.
Being ranked nationally as a three-star recruit has been the biggest surprise of his young career, but his favorite moment was dropping 32-points in one game. Bradshaw is involved in more than just basketball. He is a member of the Lego Club and the Photography Club.
“Photography was probably my favorite class,” said Bradshaw.
This season, Bradshaw said he wants to continue developing and becoming a better all-around player. Bradshaw said players like Xzavier Mbroh and Kingston Rivers keep it interesting.
“I would say either me or Xzavier Mbroh are the most vocal. Funniest teammate has to be Kingston Rivers,” Bradshaw said.
Away from the game, you can usually find Bradshaw listening to music and hanging out with friends.
