Bethany’s Camryn Regier
By Rose Hutchins
Bethany High School junior Camryn Regier plays the game of soccer with commitment, heart, and a loyal faith that guides everything she does. A forward for the Lady Bronchos, Regier is known for her ability to get the ball down the field, scoring ability, but she’s most importantly proud when glorifying her faith through the sport she loves.
Regier began playing soccer at the young age of three years old, and from that moment her passion for the sport has only continued to bloom. Over the years, Regier has devoted numerous hours into improving her skills, learning that success is not something given, but something earned.
“Success is just proof of hard work. I have put a lot of time into my craft, but I wouldn’t be here today without my teammates and everyone who helped me achieve my goals.” Regier says.
Family has played a major role in shaping the athlete Regier is today. Her sister is her best friend and whom she attributes much of her positive influence from throughout her life. Regier also praises her mother calling her the best teacher she has ever had and admiring the way she cares for every student she encounters. Proving that having a good family core makes a huge impact on your life.
One of Regier’s favorite memories was winning the state championship with her teammates who have become her best friends; a moment she’ll cherish forever. She also enjoys a great matchup especially against Chickasha.
“I love playing Chickasha, the environment gets me fired up.” Regier shares.
Beyond soccer, Regier is a multi-sport athlete who also plays basketball and stays involved in Student Council, National Honor Society, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. For her, balancing it all requires discipline and making sure her schoolwork is completed so she can fully focus on training and competition.
To younger athletes striving to follow in her footsteps, Regier offers simple but powerful advice.
“Keep going! There are going to be so many ups and downs, but remember your worth is not rooted in soccer. You have to be consistent and love the grind.” Regier explains.
Looking ahead, Regier has already committed to continue her soccer journey at Creighton University, where she plans to pursue a major in physical therapy. Regier hopes to one day continue playing at the professional level.
