VYPE: Dash, what grade are you in and what are you playing at CHA?
Dash Garber: I am a sophomore, and I play No. 1 singles tennis.
VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates?
DG: I love how all of my teammates love God and others and lift each other up.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
DG: I would say my grandma, Starley Bullard, inspires me. She is hardworking and loves Christ. She never gives up on a task and is always working to be better at something in life, which pushes me to work harder at tennis both on and off the court.
VYPE: What’s the most difficult aspect of competitive tennis?
DG: I would say just the long matches that are very physically demanding.
VYPE: What makes representing Christian Heritage special for you?
DG: It’s special for me because all of Christian Heritage’s athletics represent Christ through the sportsmanship of its athletes.
VYPE: Name a current or former teammate who left an impression on you?
DG: Paul Woodby, who graduated last year, showed me that losing is okay as long as we learn and still give glory to God.
VYPE: What is the strength of your game and what are you working to improve?
DG: My strength is my backhand, and I am trying to improve my serve.
VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?
DG: I would like to go to college and become a realtor.
VYPE: What has athletics taught you that you can use in life?
DG: Athletics have taught me to be a hardworking person and not to give up when life gets tough, to keep going, and to show the love of God to everyone.
