2024-2025 Bridge Creek Bobcats Cheer

What a season it has been for the varsity cheer team at Bridge Creek High School. Under the leadership of head coach Je’ann Whitaker, the cheer squad has enjoyed a successful season in competition and on the field.

Coach Whitaker said the team has been a joy to coach and the season has been very memorable for her and the members of the squad.

“This cheer season has been so rewarding! I really enjoyed the energy and excitement of camp—it was such a great way to kick off the season and build connections with the team,” Whitaker said. “Getting ready for Cheer State and GameDay and football season was another highlight; the spirit and preparation made it so special. I’m especially proud of the athletes for setting ambitious goals for themselves and conquering them. Watching their hard work and determination pay off has been truly inspiring.”

The team placed 3rd at Cheer State in the Small Co-Ed class just behind Harrah and Newkirk. That finish marks a continued effort by the team to consistently improve and maintain a high standard for teams to follow.

This season several seniors led the way for Bridge Creek. That group included Kaylen Foster, Macie Griffin, Laney Johnson, Kylee Jones, London Morris, Cadence Murphy, Sophia Perez, and Brantley Roe.

As a group, coach Whitaker said she is proud of how they came together to work through the challenges of a tough season.

“I am most proud of my cheerleaders for their incredible hard work, determination, grit, resilience, and fortitude. Watching them overcome challenges and stay committed to their goals has been truly inspiring and a testament to each of their character’s,” said Whitaker.

The team is turning its focus to Nationals and building for the future.

“We are currently getting ready to compete at NCA High School Nationals at the end of January in Dallas, Texas. After Nationals, we will compete in the season of STUNT,” Whitaker said. “The future of Bridge Creek Cheer is incredibly exciting and I can’t wait to see all that these athletes are going achieve doing amazing things.”
