Tuttle High School junior, Marissa Sandlin, was recently named to the VYPE Top 100 watch list, placing her in the running for the title of Shelter Insurance Miss Basketball Oklahoma.
Sandlin averaged 8.0 points with 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists as a sophomore. This season Sandlin has helped the Lady Tigers to a 5-2 record through December. The team is ranked No. 9 in class 4A. Sandlin said she’s proud of her accomplishments, but she’s a team player and loves being part of the team.
“I would say some accomplishments I am most proud of are starting my sophomore year and making 2nd team. I would say Laundry Allen left the biggest impression on me. She always works so hard and is the sweetest girl you will ever meet,” said Sandlin.
Always working on her game, Sandlin said she loves being in the gym.
“I am always staying in the gym and working on my game. I also take care of myself by going to the trainer and trying to eat good,” said Sandlin.
In the classroom, Sandlin said she has her favorites.
“I would say my favorite teacher is Mrs. Heathco, she is so sweet, and I love talking to her and she is always there for her students,” said Sandlin.
