EDMOND SANTA FE LADY WOLVES
Coach: MADISON MOORE
2024-25 Record: 5-19
OUTLOOK
Edmond Santa Fe girls basketball is turning the page under new leadership, and the Lady Wolves are embracing the fresh start. First year head coach Madison Moore inherits a group that gained valuable experience through a challenging season and is now focused on daily improvement, tougher defense and a more confident offensive identity.
Junior guard Aniston Jones (5-8, Jr.) will be a focal point of that plan. The junior brings a mix of toughness and versatility to the perimeter. Jones is a shifty guard who can play inside and out, capable of pushing the ball in transition, getting to the paint and distributing the ball to teammates in scoring positions. Her ability to run the floor and keep the offense moving makes her the natural centerpiece of Santa Fe attack, and she will be counted on for leadership as well as production.
The future is bright with freshman talent already pushing for time. Ninth grader Azharia Williamson has the length and skill to play anywhere on the floor. With her wingspan and anticipation, she piles up deflections on defense, turning tips into transition chances and disrupting passing lanes. On offense she finishes around the rim and shows the potential to grow into a complete scorer as her perimeter game develops. She is the type of multi positional athlete who can change the way a team defends and rebounds.
Around that pair, Moore and her staff are working to develop a rotation built on effort, communication and togetherness. Santa Fe will emphasize getting stops, securing rebounds and turning those stops into easy baskets before the defense can set. The Lady Wolves know that building a winner in a tough conference takes time, but they also understand that progress is measured by the habits they create every day in practice.
With a new voice in charge, a proven playmaker in Jones and an intriguing freshman in Williamson, Edmond Santa Fe has a blueprint for the future. The goal this season is simple. Compete every night, grow more confident in who they are and take the steps necessary to return the Lady Wolves program to the postseason conversation.
