Coyle’s Carsen Hock – VYPE Top 100 Spotlight- Presented by Makers Farm and Idahoma Brew

Coyle High School senior Carsen Hock has developed into a key contributor on the football field through discipline, persistence and a deep appreciation for his teammates.

Hock, a running back, said his journey in athletics has been shaped most by his father, who continues to motivate him daily. “My dad influences me to push harder to get better every day and reach any goals I have,” Hock said.

Now in 12th grade, Hock balances academics and athletics, citing math with Mr. Jones as his favorite class. Off the field, he enjoys spending time with friends, watching shows and playing games, but much of his focus remains on football and the lessons it provides.

One of Hock’s favorite memories came early in his high school career when his team advanced to the second round of the playoffs during his freshman season. He also recalls standout moments on the field, including “when my teammate Xavier Noble caught a pass behind a defender’s back,” a play he described as one of the craziest he has witnessed.

As a running back, Hock embraces a physically demanding role in an offense that relies heavily on the run game. “The continuous running just wears you out,” he said. Despite the challenge, he thrives on the responsibility and the opportunity to contribute.

Hock said what he values most about the team is its collective commitment. “I enjoy how hardworking and dedicated my team is,” he said. “I really just love how much my team actually cares about the sport.”

That shared dedication has helped build strong bonds, particularly with former teammate Elijah Sims. “Me and him would push each other harder every day, which made us better,” Hock said.

Preparation is another key part of Hock’s approach. Before games, he focuses on blocking out distractions. “I basically just put everything out of my mind except the game to mentally prepare myself,” he said.

Through athletics, Hock has learned lessons he believes will carry beyond high school. “If you really put your mind to something, you can work toward it,” he said.

Outside of football, Hock stays active in his community by helping student council with events such as working with Smokin’ Joe’s at Oklahoma State football games. He also enjoys visiting Idahoma Brew, calling it his favorite place in town for its drinks.

As his senior year unfolds, Hock continues to lead through effort and consistency, setting an example for younger players while pursuing his final season on the field.
