Edmond Memorial High School enters the 2026 season coming off back-to-back breakthrough years and an 8-4 campaign under longtime head coach Justin Merideth. “Coming off two of the best seasons in 30 years, we look to continue to grow with Strong Culture,” Merideth says, pointing to a foundation built on buy-in and accountability. He highlights “a great group of young players coming up and some great returners who contributed a lot last season,” giving the program reason to believe more progress is ahead. While the schedule was submitted via image and not listed in text, the overall message is that Edmond Memorial expects to remain highly competitive against a tough slate.
Offensively, Edmond Memorial returns four starters and will again lean on a multiple scheme that can shift from 10 to 21 personnel depending on matchups. “We are multiple and can live in 10 up to 21,” the staff explains, adding that they “love to give multiple strengths and formations to keep defenses guessing.” Junior receiver Cam Quarrels (5-10, 180) is a key target, while junior H-back/linebacker Colton McComb (6-2, 215) is a versatile piece who can line up in several spots. Junior center Braden O’Conner (6-1, 265) anchors the interior of the offensive line, and junior tight end Jacob Queen (6-5, 230) gives the Bulldogs a big-bodied option in the passing game and run blocking. Sophomore quarterback Talon Wilkerson (5-10, 170) will guide the offense and grow into the role in a system that stresses balance, formation variety and putting playmakers in space.
On defense, Edmond Memorial brings back two starters and will base out of a four-man front with the flexibility to get “very multiple” depending on opponent. “We base in a 4-man front and can get very multiple,” the staff notes, emphasizing priorities to “stop the run and don’t give up big plays as well as forcing turn overs!” McComb, who doubles on offense, returns at linebacker/hybrid and is expected to be one of the tone-setters in the front seven. Junior defensive back Beckett Freel (5-10, 180) adds experience in the secondary, while sophomore linebackers Morgan Lesch (5-11, 185) and Hayden Evans (6-0, 195) represent a promising young inside duo. Sophomore nose guard/defensive tackle Nash Clemmons (6-2, 260) gives the Bulldogs size in the interior, and the staff believes that as this young group gains reps, the defense will grow into a fast, physical unit that complements a creative offense.
