Edmond Santa Fe heads into 2026 with what head coach Darwin Franklin calls “a new chapter,” bringing new expectations, standards and accountability throughout the program. Franklin believes this group has the talent, work ethic and mindset to take a real step forward if everyone buys into doing things the right way every day. Coming off a 1-9 season, the Wolves are focused on embracing change and leaning into the new demands of the program rather than shying away from them. Franklin emphasizes that nothing about success is accidental, stressing that how the team prepares, practices, responds to adversity and grows together will define the season.
Offensively, Santa Fe will operate out of a multiple-set look with a spread foundation designed to play with tempo, create space and put athletes in position to win matchups. The system is built to stretch the field horizontally and vertically, forcing defenses to defend every blade of grass. Senior linemen Lathan Stokesbury, Elijah Tucker and Jhevon Jarvis are listed as offensive line standouts who give the unit a veteran presence up front and help establish physical play in the trenches. Quarterback Jordan Kennedy (Sr.) will guide the attack from the spread, providing leadership at the most important position as the Wolves install the new offense. Running back Trey Robinson (Sr.) adds another option in the backfield, giving Santa Fe a piece who can complement the passing game and keep the offense balanced. Franklin wants the offense to reflect the program’s identity — tough, smart, adaptable and committed to doing things the right way every single snap — with tempo and spacing helping put playmakers in favorable situations.
Defensively, the Wolves will base out of a hybrid set that allows them to match modern offenses, adjust personnel and play fast without sacrificing physicality. From that base, Santa Fe can move into different fronts and coverages depending on the situation while staying sound and aggressive. Defensive linemen Alex Gee (Sr.) and Lucas Linnes (Sr.) provide strength and size along the front, forming a foundation for the unit’s physical style of play. Linebacker Kingston McMackin (Sr.) adds experience at the second level, and Robinson contributes on defense as well, highlighting the importance of versatile athletes who can help in multiple spots. In the secondary, Robinson and Sean-Cole Keys (Sr.) are listed at corner, combining with the front to create a defense Franklin expects to communicate at a high level and refuse to give up anything easy. The defensive philosophy centers on playing fast, hitting with purpose and keeping the program’s best athletes on the field while making offenses earn every yard.
