Maddie Moss – El Reno
She’s an incredible player, both on and off the field, and I believe she would be a tremendous asset to the next level of softball. After 94 at bats this season, M. Moss finished her career batting an impressive .436 with an on base percentage of .505. She started in all 30 games this season (against many highly ranked teams) and has consistently proven herself as one of the top outfielders in our region. Her defensive abilities are exceptional, and she has a work ethic like no other. Beyond her physical abilities, she is a natural leader and an outstanding teammate—always the first to encourage others and set the tone for our team culture. Academically, she excels just as much, maintaining a 4.55 GPA while actively participating in multiple school clubs. Anyone that has gotten the chance to meet or coach Maddie, has nothing but positive words to say about her. She’s also a state champion in basketball, which speaks to her overall athleticism and competitive nature.

–
Ava Vara – Del City
Ava is one of the strongest players I have on my team. She leads by example in many ways: through her athletic talent, her passion for the game, and most importantly, her work ethic. Ava has devoted her life to the game of softball. Despite having to spend every weekend traveling with her travel ball team, she doesn’t shy away from her school team. Being a co-captain, she has many responsibilities. She is expected to keep the team motivated, to be the most mentally tough when we find ourselves in a rut, and to show the newer players what it looks like to compete. I couldn’t ask for a better example for my team. Ava has been a dedicated player since her sophomore year, and even after transferring from online classes, she took the leadership role head-on. She is often overlooked because of the team’s record, and it’s my goal to give her the recognition she deserves.
