OUTLOOK
As head coach Jontue Ezell prepares the Crusaders for the long season, there are many positives to build on. Several players return with good experience and the team appears to have some good depth.
“This year’s team has a chance to have a big season. We have good size, depth, and experience that will be very beneficial for this season,” said coach Ezell.
Tate Campbell (6-2, Sr.) and Dash Wilson (6-4, Sr.) are two players who make their return this season on a senior heavy team. Campbell, a VYPE Top 100 selectee, averaged 18 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and is a member of the 1,000-point club. Wilson is a post player who will alter shots and clean up the boards.
Landon Davis (6-2, Sr.) is a guard with good sized and can defend multiple positions, while Kenidi Moore (6-1, Sr.) is another big guard who can play and defend multiple positions.
Ace Tran (6-4, Sr.), Jackson Dunham (5-11, Sr.), and Tyler Reed (5-9, Jr.) will also be big contributors offensively and defensively. Tran is a forward with good size and continues to improve around the rim. Dunham and Reed are two guards that give coach Ezell different looks on both ends of the floor.
Also look for Slate Snider (6-1, So.), Sam Sherrer (5-10, So.) and Devon Cruz (5-11, Fr.) to lead a talented young group of players that will also be key players in the overall depth of this years team. Cruz is an intelligent player who has a shot at being a big contributor this season.
Other players to watch include Hank Graves (5-10, Sr.) at guard, Hudson Nutt (5-11, Sr.) at guard and Sam Bessert who coach Ezell calls the “player that every coach prays for and every teammate needs.”
