CHRISTIAN HERITAGE CRUSADERS

Coach: JOEL FRANKS

5-5

OFFENSE

Senior leadership is important for a football team. Coach Franks believes he has the right seniors in place to help this team improve from last season’s 5-5 record. “We had a year of underperformance last year but bring back quite a few starters. We have a solid senior class and a great set of athletes. I look forward to what this year brings,” said Franks. One of those seniors looking to make his final year of prep football memorable is Caleb Gideon (6-2, 200, Sr.). A two-way starter, Gideon has the frame to play at the next level and coach Franks believes that his recruiting will pick up this season. Gideon can carry the load at the RB and has developed into a solid blocker in the passing game. Noah Moix (6-5, 190, Sr.) will play the Y. A key position in the spread offense for the Crusaders. Moix is a matchup nightmare for smaller defenders. Tate Campbell (6-3, 170, Sr.) is another big bodied wide out who can stretch the field or make the tough catches across the middle. Together, Moix and Campbell force teams to decide which player they will attempt to contain and who they will single cover. The X-factor for the Crusaders may be the leg of Nathan Dinwiddle. The kicker hit a 51-yard field goal last year and coach Franks believes his leg is good enough to kick at the DI level.

DEFENSE

Seven starters make their return to the Crusader defense including several two-way players like Gideon at linebacker and Moix at end. Both guys are key components in the 3-3 stack defensive coordinator Nick Davis will base out of this season. Look for the team to bounce into a 3-4 depending on the situation. Marshall Brown (5-10, 170, Jr.) is an exciting player who is willing to do whatever it takes to help his team get into the win column. Brown played some QB last year and is considered one of the hardest hitting players on the squad at free safety. Campbell will join Brown in the secondary as the Crusaders look to bend-not-break and limit the amount of success teams have in the passing game. Other players to watch are Nathaniel Walsh and Caedmon Wells. Walsh played some center on offense last season but could see time on both sides of the ball this year. One player everyone cheers for is Caedmon Wells. Extremely hard worker, Wells puts in the work on specials and is willing to do whatever the team needs, in games or in practice. Truly a heart and soul kind of player. The coaching staff consists of Camden Cargill (OC), Beau Snider, Quinten Blackshire, Josh Street, Daniel Kitchel, Dustin Kitchel, and Brynnen Epperley.
