CHRISTIAN HERITAGE CRUSADERS

Coach: JOEL FRANKS
9-4

OFFENSE

Fresh faces will dot the lineup for the Crusaders and head coach Joel Franks this season after losing some key players to graduation. Coach Franks feels his players are ready for the challenge. “We had a pretty good year last season making it to the semifinals. We do graduate off quite a few but look forward to the talent we bring back in our senior and junior class. We have a group of very talented kids and a great coaching staff, and we look forward to seeing what this season will bring,” said coach Franks. Ben Vogler (Sr.) is a consistent player at wide receiver and is someone who can help this team move the chains. The Crusaders will spread the offense out in a 10-personel package but expect to get a mix of option and spread passing. Coach Franks also pointed out the Marshall Brown could be one of the top players in Class A. An injury placed Brown on the sideline, but there is no denying Brown is a great athlete and leader for the Crusaders.

DEFENSE

Seven starters make their return to the defensive side of the ball including Brenton Burris (6-0, 180, Sr.) at safety. Burris plays an important role in the odd stack defense that the Crusaders employ. Look for the team to have variances within the scheme such as a three and four-man front. Also look for Nathaniel Walsh up front. Walsh could see time on the defensive line, but coach Franks believes he is athletic enough to play a skill position like running back thanks to his explosiveness. Vogler will slide to the defensive side of the ball and take his place at one of the corner spots. The coaching staff consists of Nick Davis-DC, Camden Cargill-OC, Daniel Kitchel-Special Teams Coordinator/WR, Brynnen Epperley-WR, Dustin Kitchel-CB, Quinten Blackshire-JV, and Parker Williams-ILB.
