HARRAH PANTHERS
Coach: TED DORRELL
6-4
Harrah will be striving to compete for the playoffs behind “a great group of seniors” who are working to lead the team. Head coach Ted Dorrell, in his first year at the school, says the offensive line “will be a great asset” and a strength of the team. The Panthers’ staff includes assistants Grant Haynes, Nick Warehime, Ricky Oliver, Phil Webb, Robert Combs, Tyler Platt, Andrew Pierce, Nick Vandever, Jamarlin Jones, Alec Mock and Quinn Keast, with booster club president Shane Keenan supporting the program off the field.
Harrah returns six offensive starters and will run a spread attack out of 10 and 20 personnel. The Panthers “strive to be balanced,” with the offensive line described as the strong point of the unit. Senior receiver/defensive back Zac Crabb (5‑8, 165) caught 35 passes for 452 yards and five touchdowns, while fellow senior receiver/defensive back Easton Coronado (5‑8, 160) had eight receptions for 185 yards and three touchdowns and averaged 40 yards per kick return with one score. Senior running back Rebel Dorian (5‑11, 180) rushed for 1,282 yards and 12 touchdowns, and senior slot Lucious Brown (5‑8, 165) added 12 receptions for 102 yards. Sophomore quarterback Colt Cantrell (5‑11, 160) returns under center, and senior lineman Joey Shamrock (6‑3, 275) anchors the offensive line.
Defensively, Harrah brings back three starters and will line up in a 3‑4 with two high safeties and “lots of pressure.” Senior safety Hayden Keenen (5‑10, 160) made 36 tackles and one interception, while junior defensive back Kingston Trevino (6‑0, 175) and sophomore linebacker Samuel Byers (5‑10, 185) are key pieces in the back seven. Senior linebacker John Sanchez (5‑9, 175) helps lead the middle of the defense, and senior defensive lineman DaRyus Herrod (5‑11, 325) and junior defensive lineman Braylen Flowers (6‑4, 255) add size up front. Shamrock is Harrah’s Top 100 nominee; he is a three‑year starter on the offensive line, a team leader and already holds multiple Division II offers, including UCO. Cantrell is the underclassman to watch, with Dorrell noting he has shown “a great amount of potential” and “will be impressive.” Wyatt Pieper is described as a great kid who has won multiple awards for his hogs in FFA.
