9 Questions with Jayda Jacobs – Presented by State Farm Insurance-Bruce Shook

VYPE: Jayda, how old were you when you first stepped onto the field to play ball?

Jayda Jacobs: I started playing softball when I was five in pre-k with t-ball.

VYPE: What are some positives you see in your team this year?

JJ: When someone is at their lowest like striking out they will tell them it’s okay & having a positive attitude.

VYPE: What makes Midwest City HS a great place to be a student-athlete?

JJ: They make sure I’m a student first then an athlete and to focus on my grades first then anything.

VYPE: Do you play any other sports?

JJ: I play basketball and I also run track, but softball is my main sport.

VYPE: Where does your strong work ethic come from?

JJ: Me putting in extra work and doing what I love the most no matter how tired or challenging it is.

VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates?
JJ: They’re positive and competitive and they really want to make it far in regionals or even state.

VYPE: What is your dream scenario for the season?

JJ: Winning as many games as they did last year.

VYPE: Who has made a big impact in your life, on or off the field?

JJ: The person who has made impact in my life is my mom and sister. They taught me discipline and how to love on other people.

VYPE: How do you like to spend your down time and what are your plans after you graduate?

JJ: What I like to do for my down time is rest my body and spend time with family and friends. My goal after high school is to play college ball and to get a full ride scholarship from a D1 collage or a D1 HBCU collage.
