Athlete Spotlight with Carl Albert’s Georgia Mosher – Presented by Ortho Central

If you know the story of Georgia Mosher from Carl Albert High School, then you know her story of overcoming many challenges this season to continue competing at a high level. Last season Mosher won the No. 2 singles title and head coach Shane Fraley said Mosher embodies what it means to be a Titan.

“She is a great competitor.  She will not quit and her will to win is extraordinary. Georgia will always make her opponent hit one more ball. She is a Titan!”

Mosher started playing tennis in the fourth grade but started playing for the school in sixth grade. It’s been a long journey from those early days to hoisting a state trophy.

“I never thought that I would be able to achieve something as great as winning a state championship. Going from a state placed the year before, to a state champion, has meant so much to me. It’s a constant reminder that when you have faith in something, anything is possible,” Mosher said. “The privilege of being a state champion is also a symbol of hard work paying off. I will always be able to carry this beautiful achievement with me, knowing on the night it mattered most, I put my trust in the Lord, gave it my all, and achieved great things.”

The title of student-athlete is another name next to champion Mosher is proud to use.

“Academics are very important to me. It says it in the name, “student-athlete,” the student comes first. While I love athletics, my academics will always come first. I want to ensure that I am well educated and equipped to handle this little thing we call life, and it starts by prioritizing my future in every way possible,” said Mosher.

Aside from tennis, Mosher plays volleyball and is on the swim team. She is a member of FCA, and she’s looking forward to attending college. “I am planning on attending Rose State College and pursuing a career in Dental Hygiene,” Mosher said. “FCA is important to me because this organization not only brings people to Christ through athletics but helps guide and grow athletes in their relationship with Christ, and creates the firm foundation to make their relationship everlasting.”
