Carl Albert’s Addison Gentry Cheering on the Titans – Presented by Eskridge Honda

Carl Albert senior Addison Gentry is a member of the varsity cheer squad, but cheer wasn’t the only sport she played as a youth.

“I started cheer when I was about seven years old, I knew it was the sport for me because when I was little, I played soccer and instead of kicking the ball I’d run off to the side and cheer the team on. Also, when I started, I just fell in love with everything that involves cheer and I did gymnastics for a little while so that helped me start cheer,” said Gentry.

While cheer is her focus, Gentry also plays on the soccer team at school. The senior said she loves being around her teammates in both sports.

“The positives are being on a team with a bunch of your best friends no matter how hard practice is or even if you’re having a bad day, they’re always gonna be there to pick you up,” said Gentry.

Representing Carl Albert High School is something Gentry takes pride in.

“I could not ask for a better school! At Carl Albert all of the teachers want you to succeed, all of your counselors are there for you for everything you need and the Principals are very supportive and make sure the school is great,” said Gentry.

As for her cheer teammates, Gentry said there is always someone ready to put a smile on your face and they always know when to get serious.

“Jordan Crittenden keeps everyone laughing she is so funny! I would say Emma Hurst is the most serious. We love her, she knows how to get us back on track,” said Gentry.

In her free time, Gentry said she enjoys spending time with friends and family and playing with her dog. She said her mother has been a big influence in her life.

“My mom is a big influence because she is the most kind-hearted person and does so much for others.”

Her plans for life after high school include college and dental school where she hopes to become a dental hygienist.
