Carl Albert’s Caitlyn Mabie

Carl Albert High School junior Caitlyn Mabie is a member of the varsity volleyball team playing the position of libero. The defensive specialist loves being part of the team and helping her team win.

“The thing I love most about my teammates at Carl Albert is how close we are. We can tell each other anything and are always there for each other through the good and the bad. There is no jealousy about playing time or anything,” said Mabie.

Mabie started playing the sport when she was nine years old. The junior finds inspiration in her sibling.

“My sister inspires me the most. She made me want to play volleyball when she started playing volleyball. I go to her for everything whether its volleyball related or school or anything in general, she’s always there for me,” said Mabie.

This season, like any other, Mabie and her teammates are focused on being the best in the state.

“My expectation for this season is to host regionals and make it further than we did last year,” said Mabie.

Mabie is a member of the Key Club, NHS, Unified Club, Leadership, and STUCO. She does have her favorites in the classroom.

“My favorite subject in school would have to be language, my favorite teacher is Mrs. Sandersfeld who is my English teacher now and last year. She is just always there for me when I’m having a bad day,” said Mabie.

Mabie would like to become an ultrasound tech after high school. During her free time, Mabie said she enjoys hanging out with family and friends and she enjoys reading.
