At the age of five, Midwest City basketball player Ceidi Johnson, started playing the game that would take her to the varsity level for the high school. Now a junior, Johnson said she is always learning and improving her craft.
“The season is good, could be better but we’re still pulling through,” Johnson said. “My offensive game has been a lot better this year, and leadership role.”
Johnson said her teammates continue to impress her with their play on the court.
“I’ve been impressed with both my teammates Layla Jones and Johnae Seay,” Johnson said. “All my teammates are hilarious; we all work together and have each other’s back on and off the court. it’s never any negativity between us.”

MWC has been a great place for Johnson, and she is thankful for being welcomed to the team like another family member.
“Midwest city welcomed me with open arms since day one, very good coaching, great team and a great atmosphere all together,” said Johnson.
On or off the court, Johnson said she always gets good advice from her father.
“I’d definitely say my dad gives me the best advice about the game of basketball, but not only is the advice good for basketball he gives me lifelong advice that’ll be helpful for me on and off the court,” Johnson said. “My family and coach Maloy inspire me, definitely my dad my sisters and my coaches.”
Johnson plans to attend college and continue her basketball career.
“I plan to play college ball, but I want to major Dental hygienist,” said Johnson.
