The Choctaw High School baseball team features several great players and a coaching staff that promotes hard work, sportsmanship and a dedication to improving as a player and student. Gaige Albright is one of those players who brings leadership to the field and the dugout for the Yellowjackets.
“I’m looking forward to going out there with the team for my senior season and making another push toward the postseason,” Albright said. “Pitching is probably my biggest strength of my game. I’ve been working on strength gain and getting stronger for my upcoming season.”
Albright said he’s impressed with his teammates and is excited to get back on the field and compete.
“This 2025 senior class at Choctaw impresses me every day it might be the hardest working group I’ve been a part of l everyday means something to us,” Albright said. “The teammate that keeps everyone laughing has to be Braden Pride, he’s always cracking jokes making sure everyone is having a good laugh. The most serious is probably Cooper Zeiders, he’s always making sure the team is taking stuff serious to make sure we don’t mess up.”
Leaving a legacy for future classes to follow is important to Albright and the class of 2025.
“I want to leave a winning legacy making sure the underclassmen know it’s always ok to have fun but to be putting in the work as hard as possible at all times,” Albright said. “I’m going to miss playing with my friends and the memories made during my four years at Choctaw.”
Albright said he’s thankful for those who have helped him get to where he is today.
“I want to thank my family and friends and coaches along the way I wouldn’t be where I am without them and I just give a lot of thanks to that,” said Albright.
