Jones’ Mckinlee Palmatary- Basketball Spotlight – Presented by Blue & Gold Sausage Co.

Jones High School junior Mckinlee Palmatary is a member of the varsity girls basketball team under the leadership of head coach Carson Mathews. Coach Mathews said Palmatary is a busy student-athlete.

“Mckinlee has a busy schedule! She shows cattle and plays basketball. She works so hard at both and does a great job,” said Mathews.

This is her first year on the court for the Lady Longhorns, but the post player said she is enjoying being part of the team and competing.

“My favorite memory at Jones is the bus rides with everyone. All of my teammates are really the best, they are always there for me no matter what and they’ve become a family for me,” said Palmatary.

As a player, the junior said she continues to learn the game and grow her strengths. Being a student-athlete at JHS is special to Palmatary and having great teammates who support her is a blessing.

“The coaches keep us accountable on our grades and are really there anytime you need them,” Palmatary said. “Karma [Lewis] has definitely been a huge blessing for me this season she’s always there to help me and always has my back.”

When her time at Jones High School comes to an end, Palmatary said she plans to attend college and work toward a degree.

“After high school I plan to attend Redlands then hopefully Oklahoma State University to become a vet technician,” said Palmatary.
