Athletes invest a significant amount of time and effort to continually improve their skills and get better at their sport. So when they see all their work pay off, it brings a sense of accomplishment. Bo Browning is a dual-sport athlete for the Luther Lions and remembers the moment that he saw his hard work pay off.
“I think the highlight moment of my career would have to be my first high school football game,” he said. “Just the excitement for me that night was so great.”
Browning is a sophomore at Luther High School, where he plays football and baseball. He is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
While he works to be successful on the field, Bo also works hard at being his best in the classroom. He says that in order to do that, you have to have your priorities in check.
“You have to sacrifice the wants for the needs,” Bo said. “You have to know what is more important in the long run.”
Bo and his teammates are always ready to face whoever is on the schedule, because they work well as a team and always have each other’s back.
“I enjoy working with Aden Henke in practice because he always pushes me to be my best,” he said. “Curly Anderson is probably one of the more under-appreciated players on the team. He shows up to everything, is always on time, and tries his hardest even when the outcome is not the best. One team that we always enjoy beating is Jones, mainly because they are our rival.”
Throughout all of his life, there have been people that have had an influence on Bo and helped shape him into who he is and will be.
“My dad is my biggest role model because he pushes me to be the best player I can be,” he said. “Another person would be my teacher, Mr. Maples. He starts my day off with motivation and helps me look forward to the rest of the day.”
