Luther’s Brooklyn Smith Athlete Spotlight Presented by BancFirst Luther

Brooklyn Smith

Luther High School

Luther High School’s Brooklyn Smith is a varsity golfer in her sophomore year.

Smith, like many of her peers, said one reason she loves being a student-athlete at Luther HS are the connections she has made with her teammates and friends.

“What I love most about being a student-athlete is being able to connect with my friends,” said Smith.

The sophomore said this is her second year of playing golf and she continues to work on her game to help the team win.

“I’ve tried to improve everything in my game,” said Smith. “I think our team looks good this season.”

Competing is something Smith loves to do. She also enjoys the time with her teammates whether they are practicing or on their way to a tournament. Her schedule does not leave much time for anything other than sports and homework.

“What I love about my teammates is they are all kind and helpful,” said Smith. “I’m not involved in any clubs or groups at school, just athletics.”

Smith does plan to attend college after high school. As a student-athlete at Luther HS, Smith said it’s too difficult to pick a favorite subject or teacher at school.

“I would say athletics, I view all of my coaches the same,” said Smith. “My plan after high school is to go to college to become a therapist for teen mental health.”
When she has some free time, Smith said she enjoys painting, drawing, and playing video games. When time allows, she enjoys playing Buffalo Rock golf course in Cushing, Oklahoma.
