Midwest City’s Kenyon “K.B.” Brown – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Bobby Lewis – State Farm Insurance

When Kenyon “K.B” Brown looks back on his sophomore basketball campaign last year at Midwest City, he cherishes the memories of “Earning a varsity spot and helping my team make it to state,” he said.

When K.B., as he is known, says state, he is referring to the Class 5A boys state basketball tournament, in which the Bombers went as far as the quarterfinals before being eliminated by Tulsa Booker. T. Washington. Now a junior, Brown and his teammates hope to repeat the feat and go further.

Also active with football at Midwest City, Brown said, said that “Being a good teammate and having trust in my coach” is what he has learned through playing with the roundball, and it has helped make him a better person.

When he dons the black and gold of Midwest City, Brown said, “showing pride in my school and city” is his favorite part about representing his team.

Fishing is his hobby off the court.

K.B. looks up to his uncle the most within his family, “because he’s a good role model,” he said.

He doesn’t point to any grade in particular, but Brown likes Mrs. Rose as his favorite teacher of all time.

“She made learning fun and exciting,” Brown said.

Brown’s favorite basketball teams are the North Carolina Tar Heels in college and the Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA. He also has a relative playing minor league professional basketball.

“I look up to my cousin Jaxson Robinson, who played at Kentucky and is currently playing in Cleveland (for the Cleveland Charge) of the G League (NBA G League),” Brown said.

“Thanks to my mom and family for always supporting me in everything I do,” Brown said.
