Q&A with Christian Heritage’s Cal Goodman

VYPE: Cal, what grade are you in this season and what position are you playing?

Cal Goodman: I’m a junior and I play wide receiver and corner. I am also front line on kick return and I’m on kickoff.

VYPE: Who inspires you as a student-athlete?

CG: I’d have to say my older brother Jake. I’ve always looked up to him and tried my best to be like him. He only started football his junior year but was pretty good and I want to be as good if not better than him.

VYPE: In the classroom, what is your favorite subject and who is your favorite teacher?

CG: Right now, I really love chemistry. I can’t wait for us to start doing more labs and mixing some chemicals. My favorite teacher ever was my sophomore English teacher Miss Bower. She is really funny and sarcastic, but she really cares about all of her students and is there for all of them.

VYPE: What other clubs or groups are you involved in at CHS?

CG: I’m involved with our Mu Alpha Theta club which is a math club.

VYPE: Which teammate is the most vocal and who keeps everyone laughing?

CG: I’d say that my most vocal teammate is Dylan French. He is a great teammate and will speak his mind about something but is always there to make you laugh. The whole team likes to joke around but I’d say of my funniest teammates is our quarterback, Marshall Brown. He always had a smile on his face and is a really kind teammate with everyone from the seniors to the freshmen. He is there for all of us and loves to pick us up when we are down.

VYPE: What do you love most about the CHS community?

CG: Just love the community and bond that all the guys have together.

VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?

CG: When I graduate, I’d like to go to OU and get into the School of Aviation there and eventually be a commercial airlines pilot.

VYPE: What are your expectations for the season?

CG: I think that we will be a pretty solid team this year. I’m hoping we can make it back to semis this year and hopefully get to state.

VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

CG: In my free time I like to read, sleep, ride my bike and hang out with friends.
