Titan Cheer in Great Position for New Season – Presented by Ortho Central

Most people do not realize the amount of work cheer teams in Oklahoma put in during the summer months in preparation for the coming season.

Carl Albert and head coach Laramie Sasser have worked extremely hard this season to get their skills and routines down and ready for competition.

“CAHS Cheer has been working hard all summer and plan to make some waves in the OSSAA cheerleading competitions this year,” Sasser said. “We have a team full of hard-working leaders and have been focusing on supporting one another and contributing to Carl Albert High School’s culture of champions.”

Friday nights on the sideline of the football games is the payoff for the hard work the team has put in this summer. But the focus, the goal, is to make their presence felt at the state competition and as coach Sasser said, live up to the championship culture at CAHS.

The roster currently has 8 seniors giving the team good leadership and experience. One leader is Addison Gentry, a four-year member of the squad.

“Addie is such an asset to this team. She almost never misses a practice, always encourages positivity and communication within the squad, and is our most versatile athlete. Addie has competed in cheer and STUNT and has been a part of the CAHS cheer squad for 4 years,” said Sasser.

Senior members include Azsalind King, Emma Hurst, Olivia Walker, Skylar Ashley, Brylee Haines, Taylor Swearingen, and Mya James.

Junior members include Kallista Combs, and Merrick Collier.

Sophomore members include Corinne Cox, and Gracen Harless.

Freshmen members include Kinley Sparks, Prestyn Yi, Zaydi Heintzelman, Kayla Clay, and Jordan Crittenden.
