Who is Carl Albert’s Cherish Watson? – Presented by Rib Crib

Carl Albert High School’s Cherish Watson is a senior and a member of the varsity volleyball team, but who is she really?

Cherish is someone who knows what life will look like after high school.

“I want to go to college specifically the University of Oklahoma and get my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then specialize in Labor and Delivery,” said Watson.

She also knows being involved in school activities will help that college application.

“I’m in National Honor Society, Teen Empowerment, NTHS, HOSA, Interact, and Unified,” said Watson.

The setter and right-side hitter knows her team and teammates extremely well.

“I love how supportive and encouraging my teammates are. We play as a team and not individually. No matter what, we have each other’s backs, and it feels like a family. Most vocal is Caitlyn Mabie and the one who keeps us laughing is Lylla Owens,” said Watson.

The senior has helped set the expectations for the team this season.

“I expect us to keep growing together, keep playing with heart, and push ourselves to reach our full potential so we can make it to state. For me personally, I want to continue building as a leader on and off the court, giving my best effort every game, and setting an example for my teammates,” said Watson.

She finds inspiration in someone important in her life.

“My mom inspires me the most. She’s shown me what it means to work hard, stay strong in faith, and never give up no matter how hard life gets,” said Watson.

In the classroom, Watson does have her favorites.

“My favorite subject is Science. My favorite teacher is my sixth grade geography teacher Spencer Whitford because his class was not only fun but he was always a listening ear for me and my classmates,” said Watson.

The senior also knows exactly how to spend her free time.

“I like spending time with friends and family, listening to worship music and especially spending time in God’s word,” said Watson.
