OUTLOOK

Offensive output is back this season has head coach Daniel Wood returns key players who make big contributions to the offensive efforts.

“We return five starters from last year team. Of those returners we return out leader in ERA, batting average, home runs, and runs scored. We will be fairly young with multiple sophomores ready to contribute and a good base of four seniors that are excited to lead our team into our new district,” said coach Wood.

McKinzi Maddocks, one of the seniors coach Wood mentioned, is an All-District second baseman who posted career highs in batting average, hits, extra base hits and fielding percentage. Look for Maddocks to play some shortstop this season as well. Her bat is a crucial spark in the lineup.

Also look for Marcela Attar who returns as a starting middle infielder. Attar leads the team in several categories including hits, batting average, stolen bases and runs. Only a sophomore, Attar enjoyed a great freshman season and will be an important piece of the puzzle for the next three seasons.

Ellison Bloom, like Attar, was a starter as a freshman last season. Bloom played most of her games at first base and returns as the team leader in home runs and RBIs. Bloom’s offensive production makes her a powerful asset in the middle of the lineup. Another player to watch is Salia Garner, a three-year letterman and one of the hardest working players on the team.

Senior infielder Hannah DuPris has been part of the varsity roster for three seasons and completed U.S. Army basic training over the summer. DuPris is a member of the Oklahoma National Guard and brings a new set of skills and focus to the team. Coach Wood said everyone is proud of DuPris and her decision to serve.

“She’ll come back to her team with a load of new skills to put to use on the ball field this season. As a program we are extremely proud of her service,” said coach Wood.
