PURCELL DRAGONS
Coach: MATT LOHN
2024-25 Record: 10-15
OUTLOOK
Purcell boys basketball arrives with a senior heavy roster ready to convert experience into wins. Head coach Matt Lohn guides a team that values toughness structure and unselfish play and those qualities show in every practice and film session.
Forwards Jaime Resendiz (6-3, Sr.) and Drew Blair (6-3, Jr.) may anchor the interior with strength and determination. Both players rebound with effort and provide physical post play that gives Purcell an identity around the basket. The backcourt features several players in Canaan Colburn (5-8, Sr.), Kyler Rangel (5-7, Sr.), Ryder Ward (Sr.) and Alexis Rojo (5-7, Sr.) who each bring perimeter defense ball handling and timely scoring.
A strong junior class has several players looking to make a big difference this season. That group includes Kyeston Martin (6-0, Jr.), Jayden Polk (5-10, Jr.), and Gali Solis (5-9, Jr.). Also look for Owen Milner (Sr.) at forward, Shiv Patel (Sr.) at forward, Deacon Dobbins (5-11, Sr.0 at guard, and Tripp Eck (5-8, So.) at guard.
Purcell prides itself on depth and consistency. A strong senior class has grown within the system and understands exactly how to execute in pressure situations. Young players add energy to practices and strengthen the competition for minutes.
If the Dragons continue to defend with commitment and share the ball with purpose, they may have the ingredients to elevate their standing and earn a postseason opportunity.
