WASHINGTON WARRIORS
Coach: TREVOR SMITH
2024-25 Record: 24-7
OUTLOOK
The Washington Warriors return after a state quarterfinal run with renewed hunger and a roster that blends established talent with emerging young players. Head coach Trevor Smith sees a group ready to elevate its standard and push for another postseason appearance.
“Coming off a state quarter-finalist appearance last season, we are looking forward to trying to achieve the same success this year. We lost five seniors (three staters) from last year’s team,” coach Smith said.
Senior standout Jack McKimmey (6-4) leads the Warriors with a rare combination of size versatility and skill. McKimmey scores from multiple levels, rebounds consistently and defends with physicality. Senior point guard Jace Myers (5-11) adds leadership and tempo control making the offense more efficient and composed. McKimmey averaged 12 points, 5.0 rebounds and shot 37% from the three-point line while Myers accounted for 7.0 points and 5.0 assists per game last year.
Cole Beard (6-3) and other senior contributors bring intensity and defensive toughness. Beard will play forward while sophomores Evan Wells (6-4) and Hudson Gann step into larger roles adding length athleticism and long-term upside. Gann is a combo guard who brings great court vision to the floor. Also look for Owen McCalip (5-10, Sr.) and Jax Mitchell (6-2, Sr.).
Washington expects to apply pressure defensively execute in the half court and rely on its mix of size and speed to create advantages. With experience returning and underclassmen rising the Warriors are positioned for another strong season.
