
VYPE: What was the biggest surprise for you this season?
Lucely Kutz: The biggest surprise to me was how we went into regionals having two close games against Stillwater that were 5-6 then 19-20.
VYPE: What have you come to love most about this team?
LK: I love how I can be myself with all the upperclassmen I hang out with, and they match my energy.
VYPE: Which teammate is the most vocal and who keeps everyone laughing?
LK: Most vocal teammate is catcher Kandace Burnett, and the one that keeps everyone laughing is me or Kaylee Baxter.
VYPE: What position are you playing, what is your strength and what have you improved on the most?
LK: Shortstop. My strength is being good at communicating on the field to my teammates on every play that leads us to the third out every inning, and I’m working on improving my skill in the game.
VYPE: What makes this team special for you?
LK: My friends KB and Kandace inspire me because they know what I’m capable of and they know when I’m not myself, and they try to hype me up and make me laugh.
VYPE: What’s your favorite subject in school and do you have a favorite teacher?
LK: My favorite subject is lifting, and my favorite teacher is Mrs. Cai she teaches World History.
VYPE: Favorite moment this season?
LK: My favorite moment was when I hit a bomb against Stillwater in regionals, and I got so hyped and so did my team.
VYPE: Outside of school, what are you involved in?
LK: I play for Epic National Smith 16u.
VYPE: How do you like to spend your free time?
LK: I enjoy watching movies and improving my skills in softball.
