Moore’s Brady Prestridge

By Mike Moguin

Brady Prestridge is making an impact in sports at Moore High School. The junior-to-be is an offensive lineman in football, also competes in wrestling, and throws the shot put and disc in track and field.

The Lions’ making it to the 6AI football playoffs in his sophomore campaign last year, while also maintaining a 4.5 GPA, are accomplishments he is most proud of.

One thing that playing sports has taught Prestridge, he said, is that “hard work pays off, and that nothing comes free in life.”

Prestridge said that his favorite is Robert Johnson.

“He (Johnson) was my engineering teacher during my freshman and sophomore years, and he made a big impact on me and helped me become the student athlete I am today.”

Who inspires the Lions’ offensive lineman? His father.

“My Dad is my biggest inspiration because he didn’t have an easy life growing up, and he had to work hard to get to where he is today, so he could provide for our family. He inspires me to work hard to be the best man and father I could be,” Prestridge said.

“I would say the teammate that inspired me the most wasn’t just one, but it was everyone on the o-line that I played with last year: Gracen Gruver, Jackson Forney, Seth Freeman, and Cheii Larney,” Prestridge said. “They inspired me because I was the young guy on the o-line, and they showed me their ways and helped guide me on the right path to becoming a better football player.”

Prestridge said that his favorite part about representing Moore High School as an athlete is “The pride that our school has for our sports, because our school spirit is amazing.”

The best advice that someone has given him is to “stay consistent because if you stay consistent in anything you do, eventually you will be the best at whatever it is,” he said.

Other activities Prestridge is involved with at school include FUSE (Freshman Utilizing Senior Experiences, a leadership program where juniors and seniors introduce freshmen to high school) and NHS (National Honor Society).

“I would like to give a huge shoutout to my mom because without her, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” Prestridge said. “My mom sets up and pays for all of my camps and handles all of the behind-the-scenes things for everything, which allows me to just show up and handle business.”
