MOORE LIONS
Coach: GREGG HARDIN
2024-25 Record: 21-8
OUTLOOK
Entering his 10th season at Moore High School, coach Gregg Hardin is returning a team that lost seven seniors from a team that went to the state semifinals last year. But he is optimistic that this group can rally and build the same type of chemistry that helps the Lions make a deep playoff run a year ago.
“These young kids compete at a high level and depending on how well they adjust/improve from winning and losing games will tell the tale of how successful they will be. Hopefully, they’ll learn the Lion Way by the end of February to put themselves in contention for state,” coach Hardin said.

The only returning starter making his way back to the court for the Lions is Nate Torres (5-9, Sr.), who is an excellent defensive stopper at guard. Tre Mason (6-3, So.) will need to elevate his game this season. The highly skilled shooter can score from all three levels. Mason joins Torres in the backcourt alongside Josiah Ankrah (6-3, Jr.) who is new to the team and brings a tremendous work ethic to the program.
Another guard to watch is Chance Younger (6-0, So.). Younger has excellent court awareness and leadership skills for an underclassman. Younger is the sophomore class president. Another transfer looking to make his presence felt is Tracy Lesley (6-3, Sr.). Lesley is close to being the complete package. He can score and defend at a high level from his forward position.
Other players to take notice of include Will Bryles (5-10, Sr.) at guard who brings speed to the court, Amare Cole (6-4, So.) at forward and a big who can score inside or out, and Kamron Watson (6-0, Jr.) at guard, another scorer/defender type that coach Hardin believes could be the missing piece of the puzzle this season.
