Moore’s Ashtyn Lynch
At the tender age of four, Ashtyn Lynch got her first taste of softball, leading her on a path that would find her playing for the varsity softball team at Moore High School. Now a junior, Lynch plays first base, but you usually find her contributing hits from the plate.
“I play first base but mostly I am DP and hit only,” said Lynch.
Her offensive skill set allows the team to lean on her in big situations. Lynch said she enjoys her role on the team and her teammates.
“What I love most about my team is that we know how to have fun, and we make new memories every day,” said Lynch.
Lynch and her teammates have set high expectations for the season. The team has amassed 15 wins through most of September and are looking forward to competing in the post season.
“My expectations for this season are high and to go out and compete every single inning,” said Lynch.
A source of inspiration comes from her parents who support everything she does on and off the field.
“My mom and dad inspire me the most, they push me every day to be a better person. My teammates and friends, Libby Jaques and Keegan Baker also inspire me, and they teach me how to be a better person and keep me in line,” said Lynch.
Also a track athlete, Lynch will participate in the throwing sports again this season after making it to the state meet last year. Lynch also has her favorites in the classroom.
“My favorite subject is English, my favorite teacher I’ve had at Moore High School is Coach Crick, my geometry teacher,” Lynch said. “After I graduate, I would like to play ball in college and study sports journalism.”
In her free time Lynch enjoys hanging out with friends, fishing, and lifting weights.
