Moore’s Jaely Bell
Moore High School’s Jaely Bell is a junior and right-side hitter for the varsity volleyball team. Bell said she’s inspired by her teammates and other athletes her age.
“I would say that other athletes my age inspire me. Seeing the hard work others put in inspires me to do the same so I can also improve,” said Bell.
Her teammates are a special group to Bell.
“I love my team because we’ve all grown so close and love playing together and just being around each other in general. Everyone on the team loves each other which is really special,” said Bell.
This season Bell and her teammates are focused on making the most of every opportunity.
“This season, I expect a lot of growth. After losing 10 seniors last year, we basically had a fresh start this year, but I’m already seeing lots of improvement and I’m excited to see how the rest of the season goes,” said Bell.
In the classroom, Bell has her favorites including a teacher from her freshman year.
“My favorite subject in school is probably math. Math has always come pretty naturally to me, and it’s always been the subject that I can easily focus on. My favorite teacher is Mrs. Lohn, my freshman geometry teacher. Mrs. Lohn was always willing to help, and she made things very easy to understand, so I learned a lot in that class,” said Bell.
Bell is a member of the golf team and serves in Lighthouse Leadership. In her free time, Bell said she enjoys hanging out with friends and playing sand volleyball. Once her time at MHS comes to an end, Bell would like to continue playing volleyball at the next level.
“After I graduate, I would like to go play volleyball in college. I haven’t really decided on a career yet.”
