OUTLOOK

The Noble Lady Bears enter the season with real optimism as head coach Lindsey Vanderburg returns a roster rich with experience scoring and backcourt talent. With three returning starters and a deep junior class the Lady Bears have the stability and maturity needed to compete at a higher level.

“With added depth compared to previous years, the Lady Bears are expected to rotate more players and keep fresh legs on the floor. The combination of returning leadership, a hungry junior class, and a defensive-minded identity could make this one of the deepest and most competitive squads in recent seasons,” coach Vanderburg said.

Senior guard Callie Abernathy (5-7) is the centerpiece of the program. She is a four-year starter who contributes scoring passing rebounding and defense in every game. Her competitive energy sets the tone for the team and her ability to impact every possession makes her one of the most valuable players in the district. Last season she averaged 14 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals.

Junior guard Carly Wilson (5-7) stretches defenses with her shooting and provides perimeter defense that fits the team identity. Wilson averaged 5.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. Guard Casyn Cottrell (5-9) brings toughness and leadership while post player Addi Colwell (6-2) serves as the interior anchor with size rebounding and the ability to finish inside.

Other players to watch include Kiki Martinez (5-5) at guard, Kynlee MacDonald (5-7) at guard and Kenzie Davis (5-7) at guard. All three figure into the overall scheme this season.

Noble plans to use its depth to pressure opponents defensively push the pace and rotate multiple players to keep energy high. With Abernathy leading a strong returning group the Lady Bears have the ingredients to become one of the most competitive teams in their district.
