Q&A with Norman North’s August Grove – Presented by Jeffery Desiring-Farmers Insurance

VYPE: How long have you played softball?

August Grove: I have played softball since I was five.

VYPE: What first got you interested in the sport?

AG: I got super interested when I moved leagues to play more competitively.

VYPE: Do you have a favorite memory in your time competing for your high school?

AG: My favorite memory from competing with softball is probably when we played Owasso this past summer and we rallied and made a comeback against them.

VYPE: What motivates you to be your best?

AG: I would say my motivation comes from my success. I enjoy seeing myself succeed and it makes me strive to be even better.

VYPE: Do you have a favorite opponent to play against? If so, why?

AG: My favorite opponent is probably Norman High because it is always very competitive and loud.

VYPE: What do your teammates mean to you?

AG: My teammates mean absolutely everything to me, and I would put them before myself 100 percent of the time.

VYPE: What song hypes you up before a game, and what is your go to post-game meal?

AG: “I Get the Bag” by Gucci Mane. My go to post game meal is probably Chick-fil-A.

VYPE: Who do you look to as a role model and why?

AG: I would say outside of softball my biggest role model is my mom because she is a strong and powerful woman. When it comes to softball my biggest role model is Jayda Coleman because she always had all of her teammates at OU and helped her team win four national championships.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school? AG: My plans after high school are hopefully to play colligate softball and major in kinesiology or exercise science to eventually become a physical therapist.
