Football taught Eric McMullan to be a good teammate and respect the people around him. Eric is a center on the O-line for the Norman North Timberwolves football team.
Now a senior, Eric has learned valuable lessons playing the game of football. It is more than just a sport he plays. Being a part of a team builds a brotherhood connecting teammates on and off the field. “Football has been my passion for the last 12 years of my life. I love the game,” says Eric.
Eric has made many memories on the field with his team, but he will always remember the first time he stepped on the field as a starter. “My favorite memory while playing football was when I got my first start in my sophomore year. It was a very good year and a fun learning year for me,” he said.
Every school has that special teacher who all the students enjoy being in class with. At NNHS that teacher is Ms. Howell. She teaches junior English and is Eric’s favorite teacher. “She was the most caring person I’ve ever met, and she is loved by the whole school,” says Eric.
Family is important to Eric. He is thankful to both his mom and dad for always being there for him and supporting him in his athletic endeavors. To find inspiration he does not have to look far. “My dad inspires me the most. He has always been there for me even if he has to miss work to be at my sporting events or activities,” he said.
Dad gets a second shoutout from Eric for making the best tacos.
Eric’s life may revolve around football but when it is time to take a vacation, he says his favorite place to be in the summer is Honolulu, Hawaii.
