
VYPE: Kaida, what’s your favorite subject in school and do you have a favorite teacher?
Kaida Bradley: My favorite subject in school is science! I love biology and hope to be a veterinarian one day. My favorite teacher is Ms. Beth Friehofer. She is my counselor for my TCC college classes and has been a very supportive person for these past two years.
VYPE: Do you belong to any clubs or groups at school?
KB: I participate in sooner swim club and in kindness club!
VYPE: What’s been the biggest surprise of your swim career thus far?
KB: A big surprise was placing 1st in the 100 fly at 2025 short course state championships for sooner swim club. I had some tough competition and didn’t expect to win.
VYPE: Favorite moment from any season?
KB: I recently made a futures qualifying time in my 200 and 100 backstroke in long course. This is a high-level meet and the times I went placed me No. 2 in the state in my 200 backstroke!
VYPE: What do you love most about your team at NHS and your teammates?
KB: What I love most about my team is how they always encourage and support me! My team feels like family to me!
VYPE: Who inspires you?
KB: My newest inspiration is my future UNT teammate Sadie Goldin. Despite having Fibromyalgia and Myofascial Pain Syndrome, she continues to put in the work in the pool and even makes finals at championships!
VYPE: Who is the most vocal teammate and who keeps everyone laughing?
KB: If you ask my teammates, they’ll tell you that I’m definitely the loudest on the team! I lack a volume setting and take cheering very seriously! All of my teammates manage to keep me laughing, I believe my lane has the funniest people.
VYPE: What’s your strength in the pool and what have you improved on the most this season?
KB: I’m strongest on top of the water due to my strong arms. But I’m working on working on my under-waters and flip turns to get even faster!
VYPE: What are you looking forward to the most this season?
KB: I’m looking forward to my final state as a high school athlete. I have a couple records I’m looking to take before I leave for college.
VYPE: How do you enjoy spending your free time?
KB: I enjoy spending time watching movies and listening to true crime podcasts. I also enjoy reading and baking. However, my favorite thing to do in my free time is volunteer at my local vet clinic, Ellis and Bellinger vet clinic!
