Q&A with Norman North’s Coty Sessions – Presented by Jeffery Desering – Farmers Insurance

VYPE: Coty, what grade are you in and when did you start wrestling?

Coty Sessions: I am currently in 12th grade, and I started wrestling when I was 12.

VYPE: What has wrestling taught you that you can use in life away from the mat?
CS: Wrestling has taught me discipline and mental toughness.

VYPE: What is the strength of your skill set on the mat?
CS: I think my strength is my composure. I have improved a lot on my offense this year.

VYPE: What makes Norman North a great place to be a student-athlete?

CS: Norman North is a great school for education and athletics. They care about their students and have a great coaching staff in all sports.

VYPE: What have you been impressed with this season?
CS: I am very impressed with how much all the girls on the team have grown and continue to grow every day.

VYPE: Who keeps everyone laughing and who is the most serious?

CS: Lakyn definitely keeps everyone laughing and Payton is very serious. 

VYPE: How do you mentally prepare for competition?
CS: I like to listen to some music and block out negative thoughts. I also tell myself to relax and just have fun. 

VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates?
CS: I love that they are supportive, and we can go through things together. I also play softball.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school?

CS: I want to go to college and major in Psychology and be able to help people and also have fun with wrestling along the way.
