Purcell’s Lili Del Torro

VYPE: Lili, what position are you playing on the varsity basketball team at Purcell High School?

Lili Del Torro: I am playing the point guard position.

VYPE: Which current or former teammate left an impression on you?

LDT: Hadleigh Harp left a big impression on me. She was a great leader and always found ways to help the team succeed. She also had so much hustle and is one of the funniest people I know.

VYPE: What do you love most about this team?

LDT: My teammates are extremely hard-working, and we all know how to lift each other up. I love how good we all get along and that we’re able to have fun while also playing the game we love.

VYPE: What are your strengths on the court and what are you working to improve the most this season?

LDT: My strength is my ability to get to the basket with my speed. I am working on becoming a better leader for my team and also my defense.

VYPE: Which teammate is the most vocal and who keeps everyone laughing?

LDT: KK Vasquez is definitely the most vocal and Halle Buchanan is always cracking jokes.

VYPE: Who inspires you?

LDT: My dad is my inspiration. He is the most hard-working person I know. He is super caring and has always been there to guide me.

VYPE: Do you have a favorite subject in school or a favorite teacher?

LDT: My favorite subject is Calculus, and my favorite teacher is Mrs. Patton.

VYPE: What other activities are you involved in at PHS?

LDT: Besides basketball, I do track and am a member of Student Council, Spanish Club, and National Honors Society.

VYPE: What’s the best advice you’ve been given?

LDT: My mom always tells me to give it all I got and to never give up.
