VYPE: How long have you played baseball? What first got you interested in the sport?
Hudson Slate: I’ve played baseball since I was four years old. My parents put me into sports young and baseball was what my brother played.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite memory in your time competing for your high school?
HS: My favorite memory was beating Westmoore my junior year.
VYPE: What motivates you to be your best?
HS: I’m motivated because I am very competitive, and I want to win at all costs. I also know that I need to be a lead example for underclassmen for good work ethic.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite opponent to compete against? If so, why?
HS: My favorite opponent to compete against is Westmoore because they are our rivals and I have a bunch of friends on the team.

HS: My teammates make the season worth it, getting to go out there every day with my favorite brothers is something I’m super grateful for and wouldn’t rather have any other group of guys to play baseball with.
VYPE: What song hypes you up before a game?
HS: “No Sleep till Brooklyn” by the Beastie Boys is my No. 1 pregame song.

HS: Best post-game meal is Cane’s.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school?
HS: I plan to play collegiate baseball somewhere in Oklahoma.
