Q&A with Southmoore’s Makala Johnson – Presented by Christian Brothers Automotive

VYPE: Makala, what position do you play for the soccer team?

Makala: I either play attacking midfielder or striker.

VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?

Makala: I started playing soccer when I was four years old.

VYPE: What do you enjoy most about the positions you play?

Makala: I love being on the ball, creating goal-scoring opportunities, and getting goals and assists.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you can use in your daily life? 

Makala: Soccer has taught me to be resilient and overcome setbacks and obstacles in everyday life.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Makala: The relationships I’ve made with my teammates and coaches.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Makala: I’m passionate about my sport because I grew up playing soccer and have made so many memories throughout my soccer journey.

VYPE: What is your favorite memory of playing soccer?

Makala: My favorite memory was going to Gulf Shores, Alabama my freshman year and winning the tournament!

VYPE: What are your plans for after high school?

Makala: When I get out of high school I will play college soccer at UCO and major in kinesiology. After that, I plan to go on to PT school.
