VYPE: What is your favorite part about basketball and why?
Evan Wells: My favorite part of basketball is the teamwork moments like when you’re in a fast break and there is perfect passing that ends in an easy bucket.
VYPE: What life lessons or skills has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Wells: Keep playing even if you make a mistake. Turnovers, missed shots, bad passes, everyone does them. Just keep your head up.
VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Wells: I’ve been playing since I was a little kid, and it has always made me happy when I step on the court.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher and subject in school and why?
Wells: TJ Scholz, he is our school’s middle school basketball coach, and I’ve always liked the way he teaches on and off the court.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Wells: My friend Tucker left a big impression on me by his leadership and his work ethic.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?
Wells: My favorite part about representing my high school is walking through the halls and getting recognized as playing for the basketball team.
VYPE: What has been your favorite memory and/or accomplishment of playing?
Wells: My favorite basketball memory was winning a championship on my little league team.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Wells:You can’t control the refs and other people’s mistakes, but you can control how you respond.

Wells: I want to give all the glory to God for letting me get up every morning and being able to play the sport that I love.
